“THERE will be no Revival in the Church in the World without the renewal of Marriage and family life, and until the Church can demonstrate that the Bible’s view of sexuality is not prudish, but is a liberating invitation to respond to the desires of our hearts”.

So says Christopher West, the world’s leading authority on Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body’, who is to lecture at a three day Conference in London next week.

Christopher West has been invited by Core Issues Trust to speak at the Our Bodies Proclaim The Gospel conference to be held at the Emmanuel Centre from 14-16 January, as an encouragement  to church leaders to speak out into the sexual confusion prevalent in modern Britain.

Dr Mike Davidson, director of Core Issues Trust said: “The sexual revolution presents an enormous challenge to Christians. How are we to respond? Men and women across the denominations are discovering the answer in the Theology of the Body. This bold, biblical response to the sexual chaos of today’s world is transforming lives, healing relationships and saving marriages around the globe.”

Christopher West, a husband and father of five, is a global lecturer, best-selling writer and author of multiple audio and video programmes which have made him the world’s most recognised teacher of John Paul II’s ‘Theology of the Body’ – a bold, biblical vision of love and sexuality that takes us to the heart of what it means to be human. As founder and president of The Cor Project, he leads a global membership and outreach organization. His work has been featured in The New York Times, on ABC News, Fox News, MSNBC, and countless Catholic and Evangelical media outlets.

Mr West said: “There will be no revival of the Church in the world without the renewal of Marriage and family life. And there will be no renewal of Marriage and family life unless we can demonstrate to the modern world that the Biblical vision of sexuality is not the prudish list of prohibitions that it has so often assumed to be, but rather it is a liberating invitation to respond to the deepest desires of our hearts.  To direct those desires according to God’s design so that we can reach our destiny, which is eternal ecstasy and bliss.”

Christopher West says that during the three day event he will present the ‘profoundly beautiful and life-changing vision of human life, love and sexuality in a way that Christians of any background can understand’.

Mr West is available for interview ahead of the conference.
