"We are not to simply bandage the wounds of victims beneath the wheels of injustice,
we are to drive a spoke into the wheel itself." Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Letters and Papers from Prison (1943-1945)

Statement on Prejudice

Core Issues Trust does not believe that people who experience same-sex attraction were 'born gay'. But neither did they choose to have homosexual feelings. Science suggests that most of them 'became that way' as a result of real or perceived traumatic experiences in early life. The Church should treat them with love and understanding - never with intimidation or violence - encouraging them to try to live their lives in accordance with Biblical principles. The Trust considers human sexuality in both men and women to be fluid, and the brain malleable; and that sexual identity, feelings and patterning may transform and change. It upholds the right of individuals to seek professional assistance in attempting to reduce or eliminate unwanted sexual feelings and patterning.
